A huge thanks goes out to our 2018 First Flush Volunteers! Nearly thirty people signed up to collect samples from a dozen different creek sites. The weather determines when first flush happens, and this year’s was the latest in recent history. Early on Thanksgiving day, the weather took a turn and it became apparent that the sampling would need to take place on Black Friday. We are so grateful for the volunteers who took the time out of their holiday to join us in sampling local water sources!
Below is a presentation describing the event and the results that we had for 2018’s first rain event. The measurements for favorite spots such as Surfer’s Beach and Pillar Point harbor are available there. More details on what these results mean to follow!
