The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (RCD) welcomes contractors to bid on the Butano Creek Habitat Enhancement at Camp Butano Project to improve creek habitat. This project will benefit coho salmon, steelhead, and other native species in the Pescadero-Butano watershed. The project is located along Butano Creek in San Mateo County, California.

The purpose of this request for bids is to select a contractor to install habitat features at nine locations on 0.5 miles of Butano Creek. Project activities include clearing and grubbing access routes, dewatering sections of the creek, felling approximately 10 trees (Douglas-fir, redwood, and alder), and installation of three engineered large woody debris structures and up to six accelerated recruitment structures. Installation of habitat features will improve creek habitat by adding complexity such as high-velocity refugia, pools and cover, and sorting sediment.

A mandatory pre-bid tour will be held at the project site. Attendance is required for all firms submitting proposals. RSVPs for the pre-bid tour are required. The RCD is hosting three consecutive bid tours for three large wood creek enhancement projects on June 17. Prospective bidders may come to one or multiple. Prospective bidders must be present at each tour for which they will submit a bid. Separate bids are required for each project. See sanmateoRCD.org/rfbs-rfqs for other Requests for Bids.
