The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (RCD) welcomes contractors to bid on San Gregorio Creek Habitat Enhancement at Apple Orchard Phase 2 to implement a creek habitat enhancement project that will provide improved habitat for fish species at risk of extinction. The project is located along San Gregorio Creek in San Mateo County, California.

The project will benefit coho salmon, steelhead, and other native species in the San Gregorio Creek watershed by installing 10 natural habitat features across 0.36 miles of creek that will sort and store sediment, increase hydraulic complexity, and provide the diversity of habitat fish need to forage, seek refuge, rear, and spawn. Project activities include clearing access routes and staging areas, felling of approximately 14-16 redwood trees plus additional alders, and installation of eight engineered large woody debris structures and two accelerated recruitment structures. There will be no dewatering required for this project, but there will be a temporary creek crossing.

A mandatory pre-bid tour will be held at the Project site. Attendance is required for all bidders. RSVPs for the pre-bid tour are required.  The RCD is hosting three consecutive bid tours for three large wood creek enhancement projects on June 17. Prospective bidders may come to one or multiple. Prospective bidders must be present at each tour for which they will submit a bid. Separate bids are required for each project.
